The "National Touring Art Exhibition" will be held as a venue for SEISA students to express themselves through 2D, 3D and video works. The exhibition will be held at SEISA schools across the country, and students and visitors will be able to see works of art with rich sensitivity and individuality. Professional artists such as Mr. Mackenzie Thorpe, a visiting professor at SEISA University, and teachers from art schools also evaluate the students' works, leading directly to career paths.
This year's exhibition, the 17th of its series, featured works from all over Japan traveling from north to south. The exhibition was held in the Kanto area at the 19th SEISA Olympics Creative Division, held on December 4, 2020. The students received awards and warm comments from the respective judges, which gave them a lot of confidence. The second half of this year's traveling art exhibition will continue.
There are as many scenes as there are children to shine. SEISA will continue to work with children to create learning opportunities that are needed by society. Please look forward to it!
The comments from Mr. Mackenzie Thorpe
< Mr. Mackenzie Thorpe joins SEISA! >
Mr. Mackenzie Thorpe has joined SEISA University as a visiting professor in 2018. Mr. Thorpe is known for his vividly colored paintings of large-headed children, animals, and bulging hearts. Despite struggling with dyslexia, a condition that made it difficult for him to read and write from a young age, he found light in the world of painting and is now a successful international artist, active in charity and art promotion. Among the many awards given at the Traveling Art Exhibition, the "Mackenzie Thorpe Award" is a very valuable and prestigious award given only here by such a world-renowned artist, Mr. Thorpe. This year, three works were selected out of all the works from all over Japan, and we received comments from each of them.
