カテゴリー:SEISA NEWS(EN)

Teacher Gan, a former director of the Hiratsuka City Museum, joined SEISA University as a visiting researcher and curator in spring 2020. He has been teaching children about the night sky and the universe for 50 years, and his work as a "star specialist" is attracting attention from both inside and outside Japan.

The "Teacher Gan's Sky Classroom," a course taught by Mr. Gan, was launched in April 2020. Mr. Gan's "Sky Classroom" was held in person or via online delivery at various times of the year. The 9th lecture, "Let's look for Orion and Winter Diamond" was held at SEISA Shonan Oiso Campus from 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, and has become a very popular event with over 50 participants and many repeaters.

The "Sky Class" will be launched in April 2021 as a full-scale "SEISA Astronomy Club" for SEISA elementary, junior high and high school students, as well as local residents and people from all over Japan and the world. Looking up at the same sky at the same time from Hokkaido to Okinawa, we can see the same sky in different ways, and think about the size of the sky and the universe. We will create an astronomy club that is unique to SEISA, with friends all over Japan. Please look forward to it! Details will be announced soon. Don’t miss it!!
