The SEISA Kokusai Shonan Archery Team, with the motto "Make Archery the Center of Your Life," not only aims to learn the rigors and joys of the sport, but also to unite as a team, recognize each other, and make friends through archery.

Reiya OKUMURA, a 2nd year student, participated in the Kanto Tournament held on June 5-6, 2021. In the preliminary round, he came in first place with the best score of the season, but in the final tournament, he came in second place by only one point.

The qualifying round was held at the Oiso Sports Park in our hometown of Oiso, and the wind was heavy due to the sea breeze, making for a difficult environment. In the end, OKUMURA and his Elite Academy teammates overwhelmed the others to finish first and second. However, according to OKUMURA, he still has a lot of work to do and still has a lot of things to improve.

Another archer from the Elite Academy, who everyone expected to advance to the finals, was unexpectedly defeated, which made him rediscover how difficult and interesting the tournament is. In the final game, there was almost no difference between the two teams, and it was a seesaw game: if you missed from 10 or 9 points, you lost. It was such a thrilling game.

I hope that I can use this disappointment as a springboard to achieve even better results than last year at the Inter High School and the All Japan Championships. I will try to overcome the pressure of being a representative of Japan. Thank you very much for your continued support.

The SEISA Shonan Oiso Sports Club (SEISA Shonan Oiso Campus) will launch a junior archery club in 2020. From April 2021, the club will be expanded to include SEISA Archery Club.
