Taiko Festival in Saitama (The 15th East and Northern Japan Championship) was held at Clea Konosu in Saitama Prefecture, on Sunday, September 5th, 2021, with thorough measures to prevent COVID-19. Mitsutoshi ESHITA, the staff of SEISA and DA-KO-ON, participated in the Odaiko (large taiko drum) division, and even though he was the first person to perform which is an unfavorable condition to win, he beat the drum strongly than anyone else and gave a commanding performance. As a result, he wins the competition. He has never win East Japan Championship, so he was very delighted with his result.
In Taiko Drum Ensemble Junior Division, DA-KO-ON Junior gave a brilliant performance and won the competition well ahead of the second-place team. There was a big round of applause to their high-level gesture and techniques, which is actually top-class level in Japan. SEISA DA-KO-ON participated in the Taiko Drum Ensemble Adult Division and they performed very well too, but they fell just one step short of other teams because of the number of members and techniques.
However, ESHITA, Odaiko Division, and DA-KO-ON Junior, Taiko Drum Ensemble Junior Division, were qualified for Taiko Festival The 13th National Competition. We will work even harder and perform well to be the next number one in Japan.
We would like to thank all of you for your support and look forward to your continued support.
