On Saturday, January 22nd, 2022, the 4th SEISA Joint Coming-of-Age Ceremony was held under the auspices of the SEISA National Alumni Association, to celebrate the arrival of 1,841 new adults from SEISA. In addition, For those school premises that could not be connected on the day, their own coming-of-age ceremony was held on a separate day.
The Joint Coming-of-Age Ceremony is an original SEISA event held in addition to the local coming-of-age ceremony. The ceremony is an annual event where students from the same school, senior students, teachers, parents and local residents can celebrate each other's growth and change. The coming-of-age ceremony was originally held in each school site in each region, but we started the "Joint Coming-of-Age Ceremony" to make a bigger connection, and this time we could celebrate the 4th time.
In spite of the last minute re-emergence of the COVID-19 infection, the Alumni Association and Parents' Association officers worked together to prepare for this year's event, hoping to create a special day and celebration for the graduates. This year's event was a hybrid of face-to-face in the school building and online, with 150 participants from Hokkaido to Okinawa including family members at the end of the monitors.
The ceremony began with a warm message from the guest of honor, the President of the National Parents' Association and the Principal, followed by a powerful speech from the new adults, one by one representing each school, sharing their aspirations, thoughts and resolutions. Regardless of how they participated in the ceremony, all were able to share in the gratitude and excitement of the day, listening to the voices of the adults, their families and teachers and staff.
SEISA has always emphasized the importance of real relationships. "If you have any problems, please come to our school", we will keep this strong message in mind.
Congratulations to all the new adults!
