The SEISA National Mobile Art Exhibition will be held for the 18th time this year, providing an opportunity for SEISA students to express themselves through 2D, 3D and video works. This year's exhibition will be the 18th of its kind, and will feature works by SEISA students from all over Japan. The students' works are also evaluated by professional artists such as Mr. Mackenzie Thorpe, a visiting professor at SEISA University, and art teachers from art schools, leading to career opportunities.
Thorpe is best known for his brightly colored paintings of adorable large-headed children, animals and puffy hearts. As a child he struggled with dyslexia, a condition that made it difficult for him to read and write, but he found his light in painting. Today, he is a successful international artist and active in charity and arts promotion.
Of the many awards presented by the SEISA National Mobile Art Exhibition, the Mackenzie Thorpe Award is the most prestigious. This year, three works were selected from all over Japan, and Mr. Thorpe commented on each of the four works, including one special award. In addition to the four entries, over 100 other entries from across the country are currently on their way from north to south. The awarding of the prizes and the warm comments from Mr. Thorpe and the other judges was a great confidence booster for the students.
We believe that every child has their own opportunity to shine. SEISA will continue to work with children to provide them with the education they need.
Please come and look forward to it!
