Ms. Akane IIDA, first-year student of SEISA Kokusai High School Obihiro, Won Third Place Overall at the All-Japan Speed Skating Championships!

Ms. Akane IIDA (JFC Elite Academy/SEISA), a freshman at SEISA Kokusai High School Obihiro, Japan, competed in the 89th All Japan Speed Skating Championships held in Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture on February 26(Sat)-27(Sun), 2022, placing 4th in the 500m, 3rd in the 3000m, 4th in the 1500m, 5th in the 5000m, and was finally third overall in the event.
Ms. Iida, a first-year student of the SEISA Kokusai High School Obihiro Speed Skating Elite Academy, which started in April last year, won the third place in the 28th All-Japan Speed Skating Distance Championships (Junior Athlete Selection) in October 2021. Her performance met the criteria for majoring in the Beijing Winter Olympics, and she participated in the Japan National Team Selection held at the end of the year 2021. She has achieved good results quickly in her first year.
At SEISA Kokusai High School Obihiro, where Ms. Iida studies, athletes and general students are encouraged to interact without distinction. The school is characterized by cheering with understanding of the highlights and natural interaction between students.
